VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH BURNS RECOVERED

Midwest Children’s Burn Camp:

Children ages 6-17 who have experienced burn injury and smoke inhalation injury attend a weeklong summer camp at no charge thanks to community support. Come volunteer with other like-minded people from all backgrounds and positively impact the lives and self image of these campers.

Young Adult Retreats:

We offer a weekend youth retreat program for young adult burn survivors, ages 18-25. This provides the opportunity for peer-focused support and time to discuss intimacy, financial responsibility and social media appropriateness. Volunteers help develop these programs and lead them at the retreat.

Holiday Committee:

To help with the holiday season, we collect and deliver gifts, cold weather clothing items and nonperishable food items for burn survivors and their families. Our volunteers also help develop the annual BRSG Holiday Party programming so all our burn survivors and families can experience a time of fellowship.

Trivia Night:

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make a fun and exciting fundraiser trivia night. Our volunteers help with tasks like gathering auction items, obtaining sponsors and getting tables together. We also need help running the silent auction and raffles, bartending and serving tables.

Golf Tournament:

Every spring we have a successful golf tournament to raise funds for Burns Recovered. We are looking for volunteers to help run the tournament, be present at booths along the golf course and help obtain auction items and sponsors.

Peer Support:

We are looking to continue creating opportunities for burn survivors, family members and caregivers to connect.
