Hospital Visits
Burns Recovered provides in-patient visits for youth and adults during the acute phase of their injury (immediately following the incident) at our partner hospitals including Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis and the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City (the two leading burn centers in our area).
Group Support (Survivors and Co-Survivors)
Burns Recovered offers group support programs at hospital and in other settings on a monthly basis in St. Louis and Kansas City. Group support is led by fellow survivors and is offered to new survivors following their in-patient period.
Peer Mentor Program
Burns Recovered staff and volunteers lead peer support groups that help burn survivors, their families and caregivers cope with the concerns they are facing, and provide an outlet for expressing the joys and setbacks they are experiencing.
Scholarship Programs
Burns Recovered is pleased to offer two different types of scholarships – Our College / Trade School Scholarship and our Jim Neff Scholarship.
Financial Assistance
Burns Recovered is dedicated to all aspects of a burn survivor’s treatment and recovery. Based on the financial need of a family, we can assist with the expense of pressure garments and housing.
School and Work Re-Entry
Returning to school or work is often a big adjustment for a burn survivor. BRSG understands this process. Our staff works with the burn survivor to ease the transition back to school or work by educating classmates, teachers, and co-workers about the issues burn survivors face.
