In 2021, Midwest Children’s Burn Camp (a program of Burns Recovered) was accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). The ACA is the only nationwide accrediting organization for all types and designs of organized camps. ACA works to preserve, promote, and improve the camp experience. ACA standards focus on health, safety, and risk management. This achievement of accreditation recognizes that Midwest Children’s Burn Camp provides a premier and empowering experience for young people that meets the highest standards of safety and integrity in the camping industry.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
In 2022, Burns Recovered was awarded the Judith Schubert Scholarship from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). This amazing opportunity, awarded to one organization each year, provides a complimentary seat for the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Instruction Certification Program. Our staff, volunteers, and ultimately the campers and survivors we serve will benefit from the integration of these techniques into our programs.
