Weekend FAQs
Who can attend the Adult Retreat?
Any burn survivor over the age of 21 can attend with one guest. The guest can be any individual that the burn survivor chooses who is also over the age of 21. Both attendees must separately register for the retreat on our online application platform, CampDoc (click here to access CampDoc).
When is the Adult Retreat?
The Adult Retreat is scheduled to start at 9AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026 and end at 1PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Where is the Adult Retreat?
The 2026 Adult LIFE Retreat will take place at The Broadway Columbia, a DoubleTree by Hilton, 1111 E. Broadway Columbia, MO 65201.
What about lodging and food for the weekend?
Burns Recovered has secured a block of rooms at the hotel for retreat participants at a reduced rate of $139/night (not including tax). Guests have the option of booking a room with one king-sized bed or a room with two queen-sized beds. Guests can book at this link: Book Hotel Reservation Here
- Saturday night (June 27): Fully covered by Burns Recovered
- Friday night (June 26): Optional, but self-pay if you choose to arrive early
If you plan to arrive on Friday, you can adjust your reservation dates when booking.  You will need to provide a credit card to hold the reservation, but the card will only be charged for your Friday stay when you check-out. Please book by May 30, 2026 in order to secure the reduced rate. Anyone who books after this date will be subject to the hotel’s best available rate at this time.
All food, including meals and snacks, is covered by Burns Recovered on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
How much does this cost?

What are some of the topics that will be covered at the Adult Retreat?
The content of the retreat is still being planned but some topics that might be covered include building trust and communication with the important people in your life, coping mechanisms for hard days, an opportunity to share your story, and small group support.
Who are the Adult Retreat Staff?
The Adult Retreat staff are volunteers of Burns Recovered who are also burn survivors!
What about my special dietary or medical needs?
Burns Recovered collects dietary information on each family member during the application process. This information will be used to make dining decisions while planning the activities for the weekend.
