Details:

A special evening that includes Bourbon / whiskey tasting, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and cigars by the fire to benefit our Summit for Seventy effort. Summit for Seventy is raising $70,000 in honor of the 70 campers who attend Midwest Children’s Burn Camp annually. All proceeds from the event will be contributed to the camp as part of this larger effort. Details about the event, Summit for Seventy, and Midwest Children’s Burn Camp are below and can also be found at Burns Recovered’s website: www.brsg.org.

Join us for an elegant evening filled with Bourbon, American whiskey, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and cigars by the fire on a Spring evening at the beautiful Strathalbyn Farms in Weldon Spring, MO. The event benefits Midwest Children’s Burn Camp as part of our fundraising effort, “Summit for Seventy”.

Midwest Children’s Burn Camp volunteers Rachel Sanger and Jake Kilen are spearheading this effort. Summit for Seventy is a challenge to complete the 29029 event which is hiking the vertical equivalent of Mount Everest in less than 36 hours in honor of our campers that have challenges daily in recovering from their burn injury.

Summit for Seventy’s goal is to raise $70,000, or $1,000 for each of the 70 campers who attend MCBC every summer! On average, 70 campers come to MCBC yearly and it costs $2,500 per each camper (a total of $175,000). However, no camper EVER pays ANY money to come to camp. The funding comes from generous donors like you!

Jake and Rachel have been Camp volunteers for a combined nearly two decades and are both so very passionate about helping burn survivor campers get to camp and have a wonderful experience. These outdoor and adventure enthusiasts wanted to challenge themselves for this greater good to summit 29029 feet in order to raise money for Burns Recovered.

Jake and Rachel both volunteer their time with Burns Recovered/Midwest Children’s Burn Camp. Jake is a St. Louis City Firefighter who also has trained a search and rescue dog and is on the search and rescue team for St. Louis City. Rachel is a nurse practitioner at Washington University and is also the volunteer Medical Director and Volunteer Liaison at Burns Recovered.

Proceeds and donations toward this special event will be counted toward the Summit for Seventy $70,000 goal which will be donated to Burns Recovered for Midwest Children’s Burn Camp. Additionally, we are accepting donations toward Summit for Seventy at the event page here: BURNS RECOVERED SUPPORT GROUP INC – Summit for Seventy! (networkforgood.com)
